Established in 1996. The South End Neighborhood
Revitalization Zone (NRZ) and The Strategic Plan are
collaborative mechanisms for residents, businesses and
other stakeholders to work with the federal, state and
local governments in revitalizing the community located
on the south side of Stamford, CT.
Adopted in 1998,
the South End strategic plan was designed to:
- Increase
public safety
- Increase
neighborhood before and after school educational activities
- Increase
youth/senior programs
- Increase
homeownership
- Improve
property management
- Increase
self-reliance & self-empowerment
- Promote
economic development
- Expand the
delivery of services to the neighborhood
- Enforce
absentee landlord compliance with housing codes
- Maintain
architectural character of the neighborhood
